Challenge!

It is so difficult for me to resist from getting somethings and while that is not the core of my problem it still remains something I have yet to deal with. That is why this coming week (I would do month but I'm afraid I can't even last a week--truthfully speaking), I will be rotating my most recent clothing items into different outfits and styles.

I find myself always buying clothes and leaving them in the bags for a couple of days and when I decide to clean my room I take them out and squish them into my crowded closet. Not really thinking of how or when I'm going to wear what I just bought. Of course I think about how I can use a clothing item before I purchase it but when I hide it in my closet and don't really take the time to put something together it becomes so easy to forget what I have bought.

I recently replaced ALL my hangers with the slim velvet hangers to conserve space and it worked great! (saved me an inch of space for every foot!) However, what I should of done right after is really look at everything I have and what I don't need to buy or what I could use a little of. Instead I just threw everything back into my closet without organizing what or how I put my clothes, making it extremely difficult to remember what my recent purchases have been, or the items that I bought months ago that I completely forgot. Throughout this entire closet renovation I was undergoing I continued to shop carelessly not taking notice of what I shouldn't purchase anymore. More than anything, I need to work with what I already having. Hence the purpose of this blog entry, a challenge!

I am challenging myself to use all of my most recent purchases from the past week into clothes that I already have. I will not buy ANY items this week. I will stay away from the mall and browsing online. So we will see how this goes.

Currently, I am taking out my purchases out of my bag and making at least two outfits for each piece of clothing and taking a picture of them on my webcam. This makes it easy for me to look through outfits and not forget what I have in my closet. Plus, this is fun for me :)

I will update later this week to let you know my progress.

One of my pics from today. The ruffle top is new (H&M), paired it with an orange bandage mini for a color block effect. I bought that skirt about six months ago and have never worn it (see what I mean!)

Oo I love those slim velvet hangers because 1) they make room, as you said, and 2) they're convenient because my clothes (esp my blouses) don't slip off them. That bandage skirt is a gorgeous color!
